  • Alex is a great tutor! Not only is he highly qualified, he also has a great personality and a generous heart. He worked with my son through a very challenging and compressed Magnet Math course. He did his best to arrange sessions that would be easy and flexible. Alex is very thorough with the progress check and explanation, he will not rush his students, nor will he allow them to slack. All in all, we would recommend Alex wholeheartedly. Kudos!

  • Working with Alex to study for my MCAT was the best decision I made. Not only did he help me come up with an organized study plan, but he also took the time to understand my learning style and developed personalized lessons to help me improve on my weaknesses. Studying for the MCAT can be mentally and emotionally draining, however having someone like Alex to help you through the process makes MCAT preparation feasible to execute.

Alex made studying for the MCAT enjoyable when I didn’t even think it was bearable. He structured our tutor sessions so the content was relatable, making it easier to comprehend and maintain tough topics. I saw the most significant improvements in my physics, chemistry, and biochem exam score. By the end of our time together my score increased by more than 10 points!

Alex is an AMAZING tutor who genuinely cares about your overall wellness. He checks in between tutoring sessions and motivated me to develop effective study habits in addition to personal goals we discussed after sessions.

I would recommend Alex to anyone who is looking to thrive on the MCAT Exam and develop study habits that will be beneficial in med school!

  • Alex tutored me when I was a student in my postbaccalaureate program after college. He helped me excel with biochemistry, organic chemistry, physics and also on the MCAT. He has given me pretty consistent support all the way and I give him credit for helping me have a solid foundation to do as well in medical school as I am now!

  • Alex is a life saver! I came to him after realizing preparing for my MCAT on my own was not going to be enough. I took practice exam after practice exam without improving my score. I reached out to Alex when I knew it was time to get serious about my MCAT preparation. My particular struggle was with the physics section but throughout our time together Alex was always willing to cover topics in any other section of the MCAT as well.

Alex listened with genuine care and patience with my questions. He was able to tailor the lesson plan around my specific learning style. He not only covers the material that you ask him too but he always will ask thought provoking questions for critical analysis which helped me with the MCAT far beyond just the physics sections. I learned new and efficient test taking skills that I would have otherwise never been exposed to. His practice questions are a boot camp to the real thing. The practice questions are more difficult but getting through the tougher questions built my understanding and confidence to tackle the subject matter on the MCAT as well as apply his approach to all other sections.

When I finally did take my MCAT exam, I remember Alex’s voice in my head saying “remember the recipe!”. After completing my sessions with Alex, I took my MCAT exam 2 weeks later and increased my score by 9 points and I doubled my percentile ranking. I would genuinely recommend Alex to anybody looking to become a better test taker, critical thinker, and master of topic materials!

  • I came to Alex for tutoring for my post-bacc program classes. Our sessions have been immensely helpful and productive so far. He has been showing me how to approach specific problems and also gives me groundwork to approach all future similar problems. I’m a visual learner and he always takes time to draw things out for me so I can really connect the dots of what’s happening when talking about a certain science topic. Thanks to his help, I was able to pull off all A’s my first quarter. I’m grateful that I’ve found such an amazing tutor to help me through my classes and eventually the MCAT!

  • The stakes for me passing my calculus class couldn’t have been higher when I first met Alex: I was in my final college semester/about to graduate, already had a job offer in hand to support my family upon graduation, and was on the verge of failing. If it weren’t for Alex’s support, I would not have been able to complete my degree on time and would have had to face difficulty in managing a new position while still working to re-take the class/graduate later than anticipated.

Beyond his excellent tutoring, Alex truly delivered a “foundational” understanding of calculus; he was able to help me develop the vocabulary necessary to verbalize mathematical concepts and thus, deepen my understanding of the concepts themselves. Also, he is clearly gifted and passionate about the subject and his enthusiasm helped me appreciate the class matter as well.

Thanks again, Alex. I will always be grateful for your role in furthering my education.

  • Alex is 100% the best tutor I’ve ever had! He tutored me through Calculus 1 and 2 and when I tell you that he was a life-saver, I mean it. Alex makes sure you completely understand the material and is always able to explain it in multiple ways. He was always very well prepared for all of our sessions and even created custom notes and math problems for the areas I didn’t understand. I didn’t have the best Calculus teacher at my school, so Alex had to teach me the entire Calculus 2 curriculum. I went into and left every exam feeling well prepared and confident. I most definitely would not have passed, much less have gotten an A, if it weren’t for Alex and his easy to follow, engaging teaching style! I’ve also had to reschedule our lessons multiple times and Alex was always very accommodating and found new times for us to meet right away.

I highly highly recommend Alex! He’s a great tutor and all-around nice guy who’s fun to talk to.

  • Alex is truly the best! Without his help I would have been LOST preparing for the MCAT! He helped me study for Chem/physics/bio/biochem sections of the exam. He is so knowledgeable, so smart, so professional, and an overall cool guy! He was super prepared for each session, and truly tailored his teaching to my learning style and needs. He would take the time to thoroughly lecture on and reinforce my weak areas through custom lectures and homework/practice problems, until they were my strengths. The way he teaches you, and his chalkboard set up, makes it feel like you are tutoring in person!

Also, he is really big on critical thinking, and being confident in your skills when approaching the questions. Which is also a major skill for the MCAT. He has helped me so much with my standard test anxiety, test confidence, and testing strategies!

  • Alex was a lifesaver and a pleasure to get to know. He tutored me in organic chemistry and helped me study for the MCAT. He was patient and walked me through mechanisms and synthesis problems and through C/P passages/questions until I understood them inside and out. He asked me challenging questions and encouraged me to think critically. Not only did Alex extensively prepare for our lessons, it was as though he became an expert in that exact subject over night. He put together lectures for topics I struggled with and sent me problem sets for extra practice. I improved from a 65% on my first organic chemistry midterm to an 89% on the second.

Beyond the science, Alex helped me tackle test anxiety and taught me ways to approach questions that look scary. I feel so lucky to have been able to work with him. I highly recommend!

  • Alex helped me through Biochemistry, post-baccalaureate. After getting a 64% on the first exam, I started working with Alex 3 times a week. I was able to ask questions in class, work through problem sets and dive into and understand the material. I maintained a high score through the rest of the semester to a 94% overall score. He was flexible with hours and adjusted to my busy pre-med schedule when he could. He was very informed and prepared throughout our 2 hour sessions. He was a positive force and supported me when I was struggling, talking through the material in depth. I highly recommend Alex!

  • Alex helped me with Organic Chemistry and Physics. He did a better job than my own teachers did in explaining the material. I honestly would be lost without him. He is very good with scheduling and for staying for long hours until I understood the material. I could always rely on him to help me with homeworks and with readings that by myself would be lacking the understanding.

  • Alex did a fantastic job working with me through both sections of upper level Organic Chemistry. It was no secret that the professor who taught both of these classes (an Ivy graduate) had very high expectations for us, and I doubt that you could find much more challenging of an undergrad O-chem curriculum out there. None-the-less, Alex took this challenge head on and ran with it. Because the class was so rapidly paced, we had to try to keep up and Alex did an excellent job of matching this pace while also making sure that we did not go so fast that I was lost or did not fully understand concepts that we were discussing. There is no question in my mind that I would have been lost without Alex’s help. He was the difference-making piece that allowed me to make it through these two classes and to stay on course in my Med School goals. I can’t thank you enough, Alex. I owe you, man!

  • The reason why I passed my online Organic Chemistry course! I recently took an accelerated, self-paced online organic chem course and after the first week, I knew I needed help ASAP. I found Alex on Craigslist; and after talking to him about my situation he reassured me that he could help. His professionalism, motivation, and “tough love” pushed me to the end. Organic Chemistry was very difficult for me and there were many times when I believed that I would fail and have to retake the course (passing grade was a B). Alex not only did his very best to help me pass but he also listened, encouraged and comforted me during my doubts. I truly could not have done it without him. I would highly recommend him to anyone!

  • Alex is amazing!! After not getting a 2.0 (not passing) in Business Calculus (twice) it was very clear I needed down to earth, face to face tutoring help. I live in Washington state and via Skype Alex delivered fabulous face to face instruction (I am scared of computers but, I really felt I was there with him as he wrote on his chalkboard).

Alex never allowed us to go to the next step without triple checking with me that I understood the current concepts.

    Thank you Alex!!!!

  • Alex was hands down the best tutor I’ve ever had. Not only because of his knowledge on Organic Chemistry but his enthusiasm and genuine care for my success. Alex would motivate me to do better when I didn’t even want to motivate myself. He built my confidence and allowed me to finish 20+ points above the curve ending with a 98 in one of CU’s hardest classes. I am definitely going to stick with Alex for O chem 2 and even for studying for the MCAT. Would recommend 10 out of 10.

  • It was a pleasure to work with Alex through the first half of Calculus 1. His passion for science is inspiring. Our sessions helped to fill in my knowledge gaps, create recipes for tackling problems and gave me a solid and clear conceptional understanding. I was able to step off and succeed on my own in my class with the momentum I had from Alex’s tutoring. I will definitely work with Alex again when I begin my Physics courses because of his ability to identify crucial gaps in knowledge and help build a thorough understanding of material. Having tutoring through video sessions is so convenient and I couldn’t ask for a better/effective learning experience.

  • Alex helped me prepare for the MCAT exam in the areas of general chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, and biochemistry. He is extremely knowledgeable in these topics. When discussing problems and concepts, he points out important details (that prep books leave out) which ultimately helped me to better understand the material and be able to reason through novel problems on the exam. Alex utilizes a conversational approach in tutoring. He will ask you to explain concepts or how you solved a problem. This is an excellent technique that helped me prepare for the MCAT. The exam is ultimately a critical thinking exam and this type of practice is crucial. I scored within the top 5th percentile on the MCAT and am very grateful for Alex’s guidance and support throughout my studying.

  • Alex tutored me in Organic chemistry I, II and Biochem. He was awesome–his chalk board format made things clear and concise. Using Skype made it easy and convenient. I always had extra questions and he always had the answers! He challenged me to help me work through things—that made taking the tests easy! I would highly recommend Alex!

  • Alex is Amazing!! My Organic Chemistry II lab partner referred me to Alex for some help with Biochemistry. Before Alex, I scored an 82 on Exam I. Yikes! After Alex, I scored 90 or above on all remaining exams and finished with a 95 overall in the course. Yep! I was so grateful for his expertise and wish I had found him sooner. I will be using him for MCAT prep going forward. Thank you Alex for your mastery in the sciences/mathematics and for your wholehearted investment in my academic success.

  • Alex tutored me for the last semester of my AP Calculus class. He really helped me clear up some ongoing confusion I had with the subject, and working through problems on the chalkboard helped me to visualize the steps. Though the sessions challenged me, I came out with a much better understanding and it was so convenient to have tutoring over skype. I highly recommend Alex for anyone who wants to stay on top of or need to catch up in their STEM courses.

  • Alex has been key in my academic success. He is extremely knowledgeable and understands how to convey important concepts in a way that I could comprehend and remember. Alex has helped me with Organic Chemistry, Physics and Calculus both in person and via Skype. Going through examples on his giant chalkboard through Skype was very beneficial and convenient. I am very glad I had Alex’s help during these classes.

  • Alex, is a great tutor! He helped me on Ochem 2 and Biochem and every time we met he would go detail by detail on problems. If I did not understand he would take the time to explain the problem in another way so I can understand better. The skype/chalkboard was very easy way to learn and understand all the complex problems.
Such a great tutor, and very friendly personality, can talk about any subject.

  • I worked with Alex on several courses throughout my years in high school. Among these were Physics, Honors Physics, Honors Statistics, and Calculus. Alex’s way of teaching was very efficient and effective for me. Often, he would ask questions to make sure that I was understanding the material. He also helped me improve my study skills by teaching me how to prepare for exams. I found that his teaching style via Skype worked well for me.

  • Alex has tutored me in several physics and chemistry classes. As a non-traditional pre-med student his tutoring helped me become one of the top performers in my classes. The one-on-one skype sessions were great- allowing me the flexibility to skype from my home or the school library. Alex helped clear up any gaps in knowledge from my classes and pushed me to make sure I really knew the material. I am so grateful for the 3 years we worked together– I know he has helped prepare me well for medical school.

  • I worked with Alex on my summer Organic Chemistry course and there’s no way I would’ve gotten a good score without him! Alex works one-on-one via a Skype-blackboard format where you are able to work through problems and examples together in real time. During our sessions, I would send him difficult concepts and problems in advance and he came completely prepared to work through them systematically each time. He is patient and supportive, but also forces you to think for yourself so the learning extends beyond the tutoring sessions. Working with Alex removed so much of my O-chem anxiety and I was so satisfied with my learning experience. I would highly recommend him for any STEM course.

  • Alex is an incredibly intelligent young man. I’m currently pursuing an undergraduate in computer science and was struggling in both physics 1 and calculus 2. I could say with all certainty that if it weren’t for Alex I wouldn’t have passed either class. Alex’s personable and genuine personality are what made me interested in the subject and more willing to learn.

Alex would always come to our sessions prepared with different problem sets and practices to get me prepared for my exams. His wealth of understanding in a plethora of subjects, on top of his ability to explain and teach these subjects, made me feel honored to have been tutored by him.

  • Alex tutored me in a review of general chemistry as I prepared to take a certification exam to teach high school chemistry. It was a successful review.
We worked together via Skype in one-hour sessions twice a week. I looked forward to the sessions — Alex is energetic, enthusiastic, and encouraging.
Alex was very confident with all of the subject matter, and able to explain concepts in a number of ways.

Skype worked well for us consistently. Alex has a webcam pointed at a chalkboard, and it was always easy to read. With reasonable broadband connections, the picture quality had plenty of resolution.

We worked our way through a sample exam, and Alex used that format as a means to talk about test strategy as well as chemistry. For instance, some test questions had irrelevant information in them — it was probably there to make the test more challenging. We talked not only about the chemical processes involved in the correct answer, but also talked about processes that would involve the extra information included in the question.

Alex pushed me to a deeper, more systematic understanding of chemistry than my undergrad professors did.

It is clear that he really enjoys chemistry and enjoys teaching. The combination make him a very effective tutor.
If I ever need to study another subject he teaches, I would jump at the chance to work with him again.

  • Alex is awesome! His sessions are like a one-on-one classroom session. I was a journalism major in college and am now in pre-recs for a master’s program (nutrition) so I’m completely new to science, specifically Chemistry 111.

He’s great to work with, easy to talk to, and scheduling was always really easy. You skype with him so you can be in the comfort of your home and he has a huge chalkboard that he uses to put problems up and work everything out with you step by step. He explained things in different terms to make sure I understood the concepts. He started from the ground up to ensure I understood the chapter and the material, from the beginning.

    Highly recommended!

  • Alex tutored me through my Calculus II class, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. He was able to quickly identify my weak points and challenge me appropriately, as well as choose how many hours per week I wanted to meet. The Skype/chalkboard format was convenient for me, and Alex was very accommodating when it came to rescheduling sessions.
